hello
almost 2 years ago, after years of suffering in silence, i literally fled for my life with my kids after their mum violently knocked our 2 year old unconscious then held a large knife to my face.
when it first went to court about where the children will live the abuser said that because i have not told anyone about the violence before we fled i am making it all up and have told my children what to say.
she got the kids and i was fined.
giving the kids to the abuser parent, as you can imagine, not only disregards any concerns for the children but gives the abuser the ultimate weapon against the other parent.
alienation etc etc...
in the last month, after my daughter showed me her injury from another recent violent assault, police and social services were involved and told me that it is my duty to protect the children.
it went to court again.
this time the abuser said that because i have been documenting every incident and informing social services for the past 18 months that i am making everything up and 'building a case' and that my motivation is only to have custody of the kids.
the judge gave her an undertaking not to physically punish the children and gave her them back because of 'jurisdiction'.
there is no form of policing to make sure she does not hit them again, so this is in reality a meaningless document.
in december there is another judge looking at the case.
so my question to anyone that has been in, or knows of, a similar situation,
has there ever been, will there ever be, a point where a judge will see through the lies and manipulations of the abuser and put the well being and safety of the children first?
or is this a battle we cannot win and me and my children will be abused until they are old enough to leave home
