I have created a closed group for Hidden Hurt on Facebook. If you would like to join, please PM me your facebook name and I shall send you an invite to it.
The reasoning for this is that this is an Open forum, ie anyone can see the posts, not just members, but guests. For a few people, this presents a problem, as they cannot post securely in an open forum. The CLOSED group on Facebook is therefore primarily for the benefit of those members who need a more private discussion area, but obviously, any member of this forum is welcome to join, as are other DV victims and survivors from other Facebook DVA groups.
Membership for the closed Facebook is by invitation only. So anyone requesting to join will be checked before being approved (by me).
How to join:
- Search for "Hidden Hurt DVA" on Facebook and request to join - either send me a PM on Facebook or on here to let me know who you are, ie if your Facebook name is not the same as your username on this forum. - PM me your Facebook name on this forum and I will send you an invite from the closed Facebook group.
Hope this clarifies why a second, closed group has been created on Facebook. Look forward to seeing you there!
Ta, Lindsey

Hi, Lindsey may or may not check in here for a while due to private reasons. Steve and I do our best to respond as often as we can.
I am sorry to hear your day isn't going very well- if you want to you can post on our general forum. If you would like professional and immediate support please call a DV hotline or shelter from a safe phone. If you believe your life is in danger, reach out to the police.
As much as we all like to help here, we are NOT licensed counselors or DV hotline workers. Nothing beats those professionals. You do not have to tell them your name or anything else when you call them. Let me know how the call went if you would like to.
We are here, you are not alone.

Hi, was just looking to join this group, but when I searched for it on FB, I could see a list of 38 peoples names who are members. Surely that is not right, I would have thought it would be very locked down.
I want to join it, but obviously do not want my friends, etc. being able to know.

Hi there, I have joined this page but for some reason I don't seem to be logged in. I have sent a request to join the facebook group, in the same name as here. I am a survivor and would like to offer women still trapped in abusive relationships hope and share me experiences. Thank you xx

Hi Elaine,
Sorry about that! I am not sure how often Lindsey has time to check in these days, but I hope you're able to join the group on FB eventually. In the meantime, of you'd like to get immediate professional support, please reach out to your local and/or national DV hotline. Most of them have a 24/7 support chat on top of the hotline as well, if you'd prefer to chat instead of talking to someone on the phone for now.
